Since his first EP released on Baud 6 years ago, British producer Tom Dicicco has always been demonstrating an “off the beaten track” creativity and an acute sense of deepness. The Run Out Run and Innersurface music label boss enjoy juggling with a wide spectrum of influences and genres, trying to find the perfect balance between light and darkness.
This debut EP on Delsin, “Shadows & Tears”, would probably be considered as a highlight in Tom’s career.
The A-side welcomes with Extracting The Error, a house journey with a powerful kick line, oniric pads and reverberating chords. You soon will get into an introspection mood as melancholic elements are filling the whole space. Morph Cycle is a darker, more menacing cut where the sound of sidereal vacuum wraps dystopic melodies and captivating beats.
On the flip, A Prayer For Jupiter increases the eerie atmosphere with a straight beat and the appearance of horns that marks an imminent third kind meeting. While Fallen Spaces ends the “struggling” journey in an optimistic note with emotionally positive synths overwhelming the threatening atmosphere.

Depuis sa première sortie sur Baud il y a déjà 6 ans, l’anglais Tom Dicicco est connu pour sa créativité hors des sentiers battus et son penchant pour les sonorités deep. En déroulant sa discographie, on sent que le boss de Run Out Run et Innersurface music aime bien jongler avec une large palette d’influences, le tout dans une recherche de l’équilibre parfait entre obscurité et lumière.
Son baptême chez le célèbre label hollandais Delsin sera probablement un des highlights de sa carrière. Capable de vous entraîner quelque soit votre mood.
Extracting The Error ouvre le bal avec un esprit house sur fond de kicks surpuissant et de nappes à l’onirisme surnaturel. On reconnaît aussi l’amour de Tom pour la dub avec ces chords réverbérants qui vous font rentrer insidieusement en introspection. Morph Cycle entame le virage sombre et inquiétant de la sortie. On y est obnubilé par ce souffle de vide sidéral qui enveloppe un mélange de mélodie mélancolique et de beats entêtants.
Sur la face B, A Prayer For Jupiter alourdit l’atmosphère lynchienne d’un cran, avec son rythme droit et l’apparition de bruits de corne, comme pour annoncer l’imminence d’une rencontre du troisième type. Fallen Spaces clôture cette belle pièce sur une note d’optimisme. Des synthés teintés d’émotions positives prennent le pas sur l’ambiance oppressante du début du morceau. Belle prouesse !
