PODCAST #225 – CHICH

✈ To celebrate this new episode, we are proud and delighted to host such an iconic figure from the European Techno scene : CHICH (Modulhertz, Hardspace, Synewave New York).

Carlos Fernandes, better known as DJ CHICH, is a defining figure in Luxembourg’s techno underground. With over three decades of experience, his name has become synonymous with uncompromising analog sound, high-energy performances, and deep technical precision.

Rooted in a rich musical background that spans Portuguese folk, EBM, and the techno aesthetics of Detroit, Berlin, and the UK, CHICH has carved out a unique space in the European scene. His music has been released on respected labels such as Synewave New York, Illegal Alien Rec., Hardspace Rec., Naked Lunch, Subsounds, Modulhertz, and Black Pitch Music.

His DJ sets are immersive, energetic, and story-driven—crafted with raw rhythms, hypnotic loops, and emotional depth. Influenced by icons like Jeff Mills, The Advent, Surgeon, Front 242, and Depeche Mode, CHICH’s style is grounded in authenticity, detail, and relentless drive. Sharing stages with the likes of Jeff Mills, Laurent Garnier, Oscar Mulero, and The Advent (and many more), he has earned respect not only as a performer but also as a cultural pillar in the techno scene.

Beyond the decks, CHICH has always focused on building platforms: he co-founded the labels Modulhertz Recordings and Black Pitch Music, and—since 2019—he has operated Ground Luxembourg, a club and creative sanctuary for the underground. Ground is more than a venue; it is the embodiment of a no-compromise philosophy: superior sound and a community-first approach.
