Installed since his birth in the south of France, near Arles, it was the surge of English acid house in the late 1980s that initiated his passion for electronic music. The discovery of the sounds of the time, his curiosity and the desire to make him dance encouraged him to mix from 1993.
Paul Nazca multiplied his releases and established himself during the 2000s as one of the figureheads of French techno. His remarkable productions are released on many labels: Spielzeug, BPitch Control or Boxer. In 2006, he signed a release on F… U! FCOM, the dancefloor label of F-Communication, a legendary house founded by Laurent Garnier and Eric Morand.
Paul Nazca does not just perform at events organized by others, however. He devotes a large part of his time to imagining and implementing concepts for evenings or meetings with the “Secretes” open air events that he has organized in his village since 2010 and the “Murmure” evenings.
Paul Nazca’s productions are imbued with a wide range of sounds and atmospheres. Many of the tracks are distinguished by a warm tone and the presence of a melody, with influences from Detroit. Regularly played by Sven Väth and Laurent Garnier since its joint release on Scandium Records on vinyl, and Biotech Recordings on digital, Memory represents this side of Paul Nazca’s productions. But the producer is also recognized for his ability to deliver much darker tracks for the dancefloor. He was also noted for some electro releases, such as Capsule.
After a period during which he was more discreet, when he focused on the development of an agricultural production project, Paul Nazca has been multiplying the remarkable releases since 2021. He notably signs an E.P. on MBE, the label by Marco Bailey, and a new release on Skryptöm.
